Lois R. Lupica is the Maine Law Foundation Professor of Law at the University of Maine School of Law. She was a Fulbright Senior Scholar Senior at the University of Melbourne Law School in 2019. While in Australia, she worked with the legal services sector on a variety of projects addressing barriers to access to justice. Professor Lupica is an affiliated faculty member of the Harvard A2J Lab and Co-PI (with J. Greiner & D. Jimenez) on the Lab’s signature study, a randomized control trial examining how best to help low-income consumers in financial distress. She has worked with the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System on a variety of projects designed to address barriers to civil justice. She has published articles on a variety of topics including randomized field experiments, access to civil justice, consumer finance, securitization, legal ethics, and a leading casebook on bankruptcy law & practice. She is a graduate of Cornell University and Boston University School of Law.
