Mia Murrietta is a communications professional with over 15 years of experience working with social justice nonprofits to tell their stories and engage people to create positive change.
Mia currently serves as Director of Communications at California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. (CRLA), one of the largest legal aid organizations in the United States. She leads communications campaigns that include online outreach, media production, and print publications for CRLA’s 17 offices statewide. As the granddaughter of migrant farmworkers and someone raised in Central California, she is proud to use her skills and professional experience to give back to the communities that have shaped her life and career.
Prior to joining CRLA, Mia oversaw communications at the Oakland Public Education Fund, where she helped advance and promote programs and grants from partners like Salesforce, Intel, and the Golden State Warriors to get more resources into underserved public schools.
Mia holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Wellesley College and brings design thinking and training to all her communications work. She lives in Fresno, California with her partner, two house rabbits, and many, many books.
