Gerson Sorto is an Associate Supervising Attorney with Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County overseeing the program’s five Medical Legal Community Partnerships (MLCPs). He has led NLSLA’s efforts as the lead agency implementing the “MLCP–LA” project with the LA County Department of Health Services. Through the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Program at USC MLCP (AYA@USC), Gerson helps cancer patients between the ages of 15 and 39 to resolve the broad spectrum of individual and systemic legal barriers that keep them from focusing on cancer recovery.
