Artificial intelligence (AI) may be the wave of the future – but how is that going to work with what we have today, on a legal aid budget? Legal aid programs in Massachusetts, Maine, and Illinois have all been working since 2018 to integrate AI components into their existing logic tree based triage tools. Each organization has taken a distinct path toward achieving this goal, but have collaborated and communicated throughout the process. This session will explore the differences and similarities in their triage tools, AI solutions, and processes. Members from each team will share lessons learned, progress, the benefits of their collaborative efforts, and next steps.
